So a little project for a custom light for the living room. This was after seen some other efforts on the web. So with an idea in head a trip to IKEA was on the cards. Now starts the pain and the cost of building something different / one off.


So decided on the ORDNING Cutlery stand, stainless steel 300.118.32.

Then decided to bolt them together with  as you will see in the photos they work quite well.

The build so far

As you can see I have used seven of the Ikea

So next on the agenda was how am i going to fix the light to the celling. This is a rather important aspect of fitting this as it will make the difference to the installation and the whole of the fittings.

At the moment I am going to use what you can see in this photo.

This is taken from a new light fitting bought at b&q

E14 bulb holder these were sourced via ebay.

So that works

So after a few months finally has some spare time to do some more work on the light.

This is all of the holders mounted 

And also needed seven of these ... should not be too bright.

All that is now required is the heat shrink fitting on the cables and the completion of the wiring and boy what a lot of wire there is.
