A friend lost

Life is a funny thing today 13th November I lost a friend whom I have known for 34 years. In fact he had been a presence in most of if not all my working life. Whilst we all know that you won't live forever. It makes the loss none the less easier to handle.

RIP

Malcolm Macleod 12/06/1941 - 13/11/2018

My Friend you will be missed

Here is a rather pongient quote...

If we love , we grieve. That’s the deal. That’s the pact. Grief and love are forever intertwined. Grief is the terrible reminder of the depths of our love and, like love, grief is non-negotiable. There is a vastness to grief that overwhelms our minuscule selves. We are tiny, trembling clusters of atoms subsumed within grief’s awesome presence. It occupies the core of our being and extends through our fingers to the limits of the universe.

My self and Malcolm were partial to a custard slice and we would disappear for a few moments in the day to enjoy the slice with a cuppa.

So I had a strange conversation with a local florist who produced the above. I think it really does look like a custard slice ....

Malcolms ceremony took place on the 30th November 2018. In a beautiful location in the Forest of Dean.  Even a robin red breast was present in the gardens.
